Home of The Q Man : 1962 Ford Galaxie 500

This is my 1962 Ford Galaxie 500. I've owned this car since September of 2002 and I am the 3rd owner. It has about 103,000 miles on the original 390 cubic centimeter engine and is in excellent shape. It is mostly original from the hub cabs to the windshield wipers to the body paint.

In 1962 the 390 engine was offered as a 390 Thunderbird Special with 300 horses. The valve covers even have Thunderbird stamped into them. It has a 4 BBL carbeurator with dual exhaust, a generator (not alternator) and a 3 speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission. It also has a single stage master cyclinder so when that fails I have absolutely no brakes.

The interior is all orignal including dome light, dash, upholstry, vinyl bench seats, and AM radio. There are a few stains on the carpet but it is mostly intact.

The door panels have all the original locks, handles, and window cranks and the ceiling upholstery is original too.

The enormous trunk can hold my custom car cover, all of my tools, oil, brake fluid, shammy, spare tire, bumper jack, trash, and several college textbooks.
